ELEKTRA power strip
ELEKTRA is a project of a special network distribution block (extension cable) for home HI-FI technology of the highest quality, which came into being in 2020 as a commission from a long-time client WILBRAND ACOUSTICS from Germany.
The ELEKTRA block was put into production in a limited quantity of only 100 pieces as a limited edition with specific functional requirements.
Each piece comes with a stainless steel plate engraved with the order number and a limited edition certificate matching the original number.

The body of the distribution block is made using CNC technology by milling from a single block of aluminium in dimensions adapted to the size of the HI-FI components.
The inside of the block contains aluminium parts made by CNC milling technology and wiring components that meet the most stringent requirements for this type of network switchgear. Inside the block body, a total of 15.2 metres of silver-plated cable, divided into 18 double cable bundles of 42 centimetres in length, are integrated from the input terminal block to the six power sockets with rhodium-plated terminals, which are routed through perforated aluminium bulkheads to achieve an even cable layout

On the front sides of the body are embedded elements made of glued walnut wood, serving both as resonance absorbers and as a complement to soften the solid aluminium mass.
At the bottom, height-adjustable feet are fitted with the possibility of fitting a silicone pad or a steel spike with a support bed. The surface of the aluminium parts is anodised in two possible colours. A natural anodised finish highlighting the natural beauty of the aluminium and an elegant black anodised finish.

The ELEKTRA distribution block has two possible alternatives for the supply cable according to the customer’s preference. The first option is a supply cable with a plug inserted through a hole in the connector at the back of the aluminium body. The second option, preferred by most fans of high-end HI-FI technology, is a direct-fit power cord through a feedthrough to a terminal block in the body of the unit, eliminating voltage loss at the connectors.
The project also included the design of the original packaging, promotional photographs, a presentation video capturing the main part of the product manufacturing process and the design of a distinctive logo, referring to the minimalist design of the product.
