Kitchen with a touch of GENIUS LOCI

Kitchen cabinet project with a touch of GENIUS LOCI. The project was specific to the space in which the line is placed. The client’s distinct relationship with antique furniture, art and with an eye for detail. In the space of the original kitchen of an old 19th century village house, it was necessary to create a fully functional kitchen that combines elements of the kitchens of grandmothers and modern achievements of our time.

The base of the set is an oak construction with a solid oak worktop with a special finish.

In the wooden structure are placed cabinets with HIGH – TECH kitchen technology.

The surface of the drawer fronts and cabinet doors is treated with a special finish with sanded edges and surfaces that mimic the wear and tear of time. The sanding treatment was carried out by the clients themselves at the joiner’s to achieve the desired effect. The fronts and doors are complemented by ceramic hand-painted handles

A large capacity ceramic sink with a retro brass mixer tap is used in the set.

The retro design has also been retained in the electrical appliances.

At the client’s request, the set was complemented with a distinctive element in her favourite green colour I chose a glass screen between the worktop and the storage shelf in which electrical sockets and switches made of ceramic are fitted.

The whole assembly is designed as a solitary piece of furniture that can be placed in any open space at any time without the need to be anchored against the wall.

For me, the project was particularly special because of the intensive communication; the clients had no problem expressing any of their desires regarding the kitchen equipment and gave advice. A perfect interplay between the designer’s ideas and the clients’ ideas was created, thus fulfilling my complete SEDMORO and resulting in a functional kitchen that makes its owners very happy and makes everyday moments more enjoyable.
